When Life Hands You Lemons: Wife Channels Heartbreak Over Cheating Husband's Insults Into Life-changing Book Deal
'I had pretty healthy esteem before getting married but that definitely triggered a low period for me.'
But instead of focusing on the negative, Jennifer decided to set up a blog, yourenotprettyenough.com, a platform for discussion about women's self-esteem issues. The site became an internet sensation, and has since landed her a book deal.
'They were being affectionate, you know? Relating.
When I set up a website I used that phrase thinking it would be sort of a joke between me and the people who knew that story. But then something interesting happened.
'I noticed I got a startling amount of web traffic from people who were Googling phrases like "how to be pretty when you're not" or "am I pretty enough for anyone to love me?" It made me sad to see those searches month after month so I decided to take action.
'We had different expectations about marriage but didn't communicate that well with each other. I don't want to demonise my ex-husband.
'It takes two people to break up a marriage, and the break up of that particular marriage is more complicated and nuanced than saying hurtful words.

You're Not Pretty Enough, which features a collection of quirky and witty stories from her life, is available digitally and the paperback is available on Amazon.
'Ultimately the book serves as an example of how to be comfortable in your own skin, even if you screw up along the way or if bad things happen to you.'
'We've been married a few years now and couldn't be happier,' said Jennifer.
'But just so everyone is clear: this was not some rom-com thing where all I needed was to find the right guy to be happy.
'We've had some troubles - even separated a couple years ago - but we've worked out a lot of our issues (and continue to work on the ones we still have left).
'We're in it for the long haul now.'

7 THINGS TO DO EVERY MORNING TO BE SUCCESSFUL
By Heather Williams
Alright girls, listen up because I’m here to tell you exactly what things to do every morning so you can be your most successful you! I recently read an article in one of my favorite newspapers that highlighted successful people and what they do on a regular basis. Then, I started researching a little more and found several key things they all had in common. After that, I started taking notice of successful people I know, and how they utilize the morning hours each day. What I found were all common things to do every morning that I’ve started implementing in my own life, and you know what? I already feel more productive and am accomplishing more each day too! Some of these may seem daunting, but after one month, I can tell you they aren’t that hard and they really do work! Check them out and then share your tips with me!
1. GET UP EARLIER
This is one of the hardest, but best things to do every morning if you want to be successful. If you already get up early, as in around 5 a.m. or 5:30 a.m., then don’t worry; I’m not talking to you since you're already on top of the game! I’m speaking to those of you who get up around 8 a.m. or 9 a.m. like I used to. I worked a second shift job, so getting up any earlier was out of the question for me. Luckily, now that I work at home, I’m able to get up whenever I choose. If you have this option to get up early before your job each day, do it! I get more done in the early hours of the day and have less distractions. Each morning, the alarm goes off at 5 a.m., and I’m working out by 5:30 a.m. and eating breakfast by 7:00 a.m. or 7:30 a.m. This is especially a great tool if you want to get more done each day. It is reported that most successful people, even President Obama himself, get up at 4:30 a.m or 5 a.m.. each day. Now ladies, if the President himself can find the time, surely we all can!
2. WORK OUT
Yes, along with getting up early, I’m asking you to get your booty moving in high gear too! I already made working out a habit, but didn't do it as early in the morning as I am now. If you're new to working out, I probably sound like a drill sergeant, but hear me out. Highly successful people have this number one habit in common. They get up early and work out to get their day started. This isn’t only important for physical fitness, but also important for your mental focus, function and your metabolism. It is a great way to take time for yourself each day, before the day’s agenda takes its toll on your energy levels. It is also a great way to motivate you and has been proven to increase mental function and concentration to everyone who does it. Start by working out for 30 minutes each morning, whether it be a walk around your neighborhood or local park, and then add 10 minutes of stretching, weights or a few yoga poses. Then, increase this time to 45 minutes or an hour if you can and add weight training or extra cardio. Be sure to stretch regularly after each session to enhance your flexibility too.
3. EAT BREAKFAST
We all know breakfast is important, but did you know that all successful people make sure not to skip this important meal? Oh, and if you’re wondering, a massive bowl of sugary cereal is not considered breakfast here, girls, nor is a leftover piece of last night’s pizza. I’m talking about a good, solid breakfast to get you energized and nourished for the day ahead. This is the best little gift you can give your brain and your metabolism. Don’t eat too early if you’ve had a late dinner, but be sure to eat something at least a couple hours after you get up. Since I wake up at 5 a.m., I’m not in the mood to sit down and eat first thing. It actually helps me wake up to get up and move first thing, so I choose to work out first. Then, I refuel afterwards and I feel great all day long. In fact, I am much more capable of focusing on the tasks the rest of the day by fueling up first thing. Choose a protein rich breakfast such as eggs, a whole foods protein smoothie or shake, oatmeal with some nuts, seeds and Greek yogurt, or even Greek yogurt with some berries and nuts or seeds. Protein is important to jumpstart the neurotransmitters in the brain that enhance mental function. All successful people know how important mental function is in generating ideas, accomplishing tasks efficiently, and increasing motivation for the day ahead. Plus, not eating breakfast can make you cranky, so do everyone else a favor, dear, and eat before you start your day!
4. ENJOY SOME QUIET TIME
One reason getting up early is so great is because it gives you some quiet time each day. If you live in a crowded home like I do, you know that it can be hard to get some peace in the morning if the dogs are all over the house, people are making noise getting ready, or are just talking throughout the house. If you have kids, I know you understand what I mean. Getting up early, exercising and even eating breakfast alone are great ways to take some time for yourself each morning. When you do this, you’re allowing your brain to just focus on you, your day ahead, things you would like to do during the day, things you would like to get accomplished, or even how you can help others throughout the day. If it helps, write in a journal each morning for 5 or 10 minutes. It makes you a more peaceful, productive person, and a happier person to be around with others. My favorite way to do this is to get up before everyone else and enjoy a quiet morning workout, breakfast and even a little writing time to myself. Whatever you can squeeze in, start adding some morning quiet time to your routine. You’ll become addicted quite quickly, I’m sure, and it may be the extra incentive you need to set that alarm clock early!
5. BE ORGANIZED
One other thing that highly successful people have in common is that they are very organized when it comes to their morning routine. This means having your clothes prepared for the day ahead, your lunches or other meals gathered up if you work away from home, keeping all your work bags together, and even keeping your room organized. Don’t leave your bed unmade, clothes all over the floor and your bathroom a train wreck. Every time you do, these visual cues send teeny tiny signs of stress to your brain, and can make you feel chaotic, even if you’re not. Be organized, and you’ll feel more together, more on top of your game and ready for the day ahead. Coming from a slob turned neat freak, I’m here to tell you- it works!
6. LEAVE YESTERDAY BEHIND
One really important thing you must do every morning is not to get up regretting yesterday’s choices, decisions, losses, etc. If you didn’t get a promotion at work you were hoping for, are having a tiff with a friend, or your boss said something that upset you, you must leave it in the past. If you were in the wrong, be sure you apologize, but otherwise you need to leave what is behind you alone and focus on today. Every successful person approaches the new day ahead with a new attitude, positive outlook and with a plan, not a regret. You cannot change what is past, but having the right outlook on the day ahead will give you the ability to make today better.
7. BE CONFIDENT
One really simple thing I have found that works very well is to give yourself a pep talk each morning. Okay, I don’t really talk to myself out loud each day, but if you want to, go for it! I do give myself a mental pep talk each morning though, telling myself that I have everything it takes to get through this day, accomplish what is needed, and be open to new ideas and possibilities that can enhance my life, or other lives around me. Be prepared for any situation by giving yourself a confidence boost each morning. This gets you motivated and makes you more confident to the world around you. It can even help to dress in an outfit that makes you feel great, wear your favorite hairstyle, eat a healthy breakfast, etc. Doing anything that makes you feel more confident is a great way to start the day. I also like reading an inspirational passage or quote each morning, which gives me something positive to focus on first thing.
Each of us have this precious time between the hours we get up and the hours we start our work to be more positive, more productive and more successful. If all this isn’t enough, I’ve found each of these things will make you happier too!
What is your favorite tip for being successful?

7 Things To Consider Before Planning A Wedding
After you celebrate the initial joy of being engaged to the love of your life, you might want to consider some of these things before planning a wedding. They can make your planning process a lot easier because they help narrow down your wedding options and put some guidelines into place. So congratulations on your wedding and have fun thinking about all the essentials before planning a wedding!
1. BUDGET
This will probably be the first thing that comes to mind before planning a wedding. It will be the determining factor when it comes down to the size, venue, food, dress, and everything else in a wedding. You cannot start to plan all of the intricate details of a wedding without coming to a conclusion on a budget with your significant other.
2. SIZE
The size of the wedding will also be a huge thing to think about before planning a wedding. Would you rather have every friend there or have a more intimate wedding with just family and close friends? The size of the wedding has so much more significance than just staying under budget. It can set the tone for how much attention you can pay to each individual guest.
3. PRIORITIES
Do you want religion to be a large part of the wedding? Or do you want to spend more time focusing on the entertainment and reception? You need to figure out what you want to prioritize and spend the most time on during the planning process. Whatever you prioritize, whether it be food, the dress, or the connection between you and your significant other, it will be emphasized on your special day and be something you remember about your wedding years down the road.
4. THEME
Not all weddings have a theme, but if you are going to have one, it is best to decide one at the beginning of the planning process. Once you decide the theme, it will help you decide the color scheme, food, and decorations for your theme. Having a theme, even if it is a broad one, will generally help you in the planning process because it helps narrow down your options.
5. COLORS
You might not think that the colors have a big impact on your wedding, but they can set the tone for your entire day. Once you determine your colors, you can move on to picking the bouquets, bridesmaid dresses, and decorations. Take some time to really think about your wedding colors and what they will say about the ambiance of your wedding.
6. PLANNER
Before you start thinking about the decorations, venue, and details of the wedding, you should contemplate having a wedding planner or going it alone. If you are well-versed in party planning, you might feel confident in planning a whole wedding without professional help. But if you are a planning rookie and it fits into your budget, having a wedding planner can make the process a whole lot easier and less stressful.
7. THE PLANNING PROCESS
You might be so excited about your wedding you just want to jump into everything, but it will pay off in the end if you approach wedding planning in a tactical manner. You want the planning process to be as stress free as possible. You also want to make sure that you and your significant other are able to share the planning process and make it an equal effort. This is such a special time, preparing for a special day. Rather than go through it with no rhyme or reason, take the time to sit down as a couple and figure out how to go about things.
Wedding planning can either be such a beautiful time, or it can be the most stressful time of your life. Before you go around looking for decorations, a venue, a dress, and everything in between, try to follow these tips on what to think about before planning a wedding. It can make your planning process a whole lot easier if you have some of your bases covered before you start.
What do you think of these things to think about before planning a wedding? Do you have any advice on going about the wedding planning process?

5 Things Your Mom Never told You About Relationships
1. Timing
It’s possible your mother imparted on you the infamous “timing is everything” wisdom, but it’s more possible she opted for the far more optimistic: “love conquers all”. The fact is, the first one is true, and the second one isn’t. There will be people you’ll love in your life, who’ll also love you, but that doesn’t mean they’re the “forever” ones. That may be life’s biggest lesson: love isn’t always enough. And what’s more frustrating, you can be extremely compatible with this person, and everything seems so easy like you’ve always heard it should be — but if someone’s not ready to move forward, they just won’t. It’s like a boulder, you can’t move it on your own and you’ll exhaust yourself trying, not to mention waste your time. Still, there is a sliver lining: these same people serve a significant purpose in your life, and more importantly, help both shape your character as well as make you realize what you want and need in a partner.
2. Don’t, Um, Suck In Bed
Well, my mom actually did tell me this, in a somewhat round about way, but it was so shocking I’m convinced this isn’t normal. When I was in high school, she received a wedding invitation in the mail, and informed me the two people getting married were both virgins; then said this verbatim: “Can you imagine? Talk about missionary position forever.” It’s only now, more than 10 years later, I realize what she really meant was: don’t be afraid to experiment a little before locking it down, and especially with your current significant other.
3. Sex Spells, They’re A Thing
What is a sex spell, you ask? It’s an unexplainable desire and pull towards someone you’d likely never even be in a serious relationship with, but you’re both completely infatuated and bonded to despite little to no rational reason. This doesn’t always have to equal great sex (though it almost always does), there’s just a natural, almost unshakable attraction. And here’s the real kicker your mother would never own up to: a true one can be harder to find, and at certain times in your life even more fulfilling, than love.
4. Good-On-Paper-Guys Are Often The Ones You Need To Watch Out For
You’ve heard of sociopaths, right? Well, it basically goes like this: that guy your mom’s best friend wants to set you up with — the one who’s on the partner track at his finance firm, comes from a great family, and compliments your mom’s even dubious fashion choices —yeah, well, he could be a big fat shady liar. Inside tip: beware the collection of white lies, those can actually be more character defining than one whopper.
5. A One-Night-Stand Doesn’t Always Equal Doom
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not necessarily condoning these. But there are times when getting caught up in the moment makes you feel alive, and can be exactly what we need (just be safe!). While I’m grateful my mom scared the bejesus out of me when it came to sex, as it’s prohibited me from making a multitude of careless choices, I’ve realized as an adult you shouldn’t beat yourself up if you act on said moments; what’s important is that it’s a moment you want to act on. Because who knows, maybe there’s a reason you did. Fact: I’ve known marriages that have resulted out of a one-night-stand. Sorry, Mom.

How To Enhance Your Butt........Naturally
A friend of mine has been on my case to write a post on how to increase butt size naturally. The amusing part is that she's got a sizeable butt for her physique, but she needs an increase in size........without surgery.
Well, I did a bit of research and came up with these few tips. I hope this helps you "DEAR FRIEND". lol
Weight Training
The first thing you can do to enhance your buttocks is weight training. This will help you get a bigger butt quickly. Some of the weight training exercises that will help you are squats, lunges, and leg presses. These exercises should be done at two or three times a week.
Small, Healthy Meals
Another buttock enhancement tip is to eat small, healthy meals. This will help you get sexy curves. There are certain types of foods that will help you get a bigger butt. Foods that will help you are protein, fruits, veggies, and complex carbs. Be sure you eat a small, healthy meal every two to three hours.
Here’s an example of some of the foods that you can eat. For protein, you can eat chicken breast, lean beef, lean fish, protein shakes, and turkey breast. For complex carbs, you can eat sweet potatoes, oatmeal, and whole wheat bread and pasta.
Cardio Workouts
The third enhancing tip that will help you get a bigger buttocks is to do cardio workouts. These workouts include doing pilates, aerobics, kick boxing, jogging or walking fast on the treadmill, and using the stair master. You don’t have to do all of them. But you should at least do one of the workouts two to three times a week.
Buttock Enhancement Cream
The fourth enhancing tip that will help you get a bigger buttocks is to use a buttock enhancement cream along with all the above techniques being employed. Once a person uses this butt enhancement cream and also does regular work outs in addition to a proper diet, enhanced, firm and beautiful buttocks will be there for you to see.
One of the very famous buttock enhancement cream is CC buttocks lifting cream. It has proved to be effective in providing women with bigger, firmer and desirable rear ends. This has seen women becoming more self confident and less conscious about displaying their bodies.
Go ahead and give these variations a try and in a period of time you will be firming up those thighs and butts. Whatever you do, just please say no to the fancy thigh machines and inner thigh squeezers, and use these more effective bodyweight exercises and free weight exercises, and you’ll be much better off for it.
"DEAR FRIEND", Thank me later if it all works!!!. XOXO.....
Dressing Tricks to Hide That Flab and Other Problem Areas
Every woman knows what the uncomfortable parts of her body are. However confident she is, that iffy area bulging out can make her blush and feel uncomfortable. While going under the knife is not really an alluring option for most, there are easier ways to skirt the issue.
Try some tweaks in your dressing and accessorize smartly to camouflage what you're trying to hide.
Here are some tips on how to distract attention with the help of the right accessories and a few tricks.
Jelly belly
Your belly can be a matter of concern, and not just from a health perspective. If it bulges out and embarrasses you then accentuate your Empire line by wearing high waisted dress or wearing a belt just below your bust. Alternatively, try wearing a tasseled low slung belt on your waist, long necklaces and a triangular scarf left loose. Wear your shirt untucked or a loose blouse on top of your pencil skirt. Carry a big day bag on your forearm or a sling bag across till your waist which will hide the unwanted paunch.
Flabby arms and hips
Wearing monotone or a dark colour is a smart way to hide your disproportionate body. If your hip or waist is bigger than the rest of your body, avoid belts. For flabby arms, avoid thick flashy bracelets, gloves or puffy sleeves. They tend to draw undue attention. A pleated or embellished neckline or a sparkly necklace ensures people focus on the right places.
Broad forehead
If you have a broad forehead, wearing hats, caps, Alice bands and bandanas will help you cover the sore area easily. Styling your hair to take attention away from your forehead with bangs or a side parting would help too.
Love handles
Never wear a belt on your jeans if your love handles are evident and preferably wear jeans a size larger to banish the muffin top. High waist jeans and an A-line dress will help hide the extra curve. Also try out summer dresses that flare out from the waist.
Short neck
Wear long earrings to frame the face while giving an illusion of a longer neck. While deep V or U-neck adds length to your short neck, delicate long necklaces with a huge pendant will help give your look a sharper edge.
Alternatively, wear a scarf around your neck and let the ends hang loose around your shoulders.
Double chin
Avoid wearing chokers and instead wear longer neck pieces. The neckline of your clothes should look wider or longer which help define the jaw line better.
Flat chest
If you don't have upper curves, don't sulk. Wear clothes with more embroidery and embellishment on the chest area to give you a fuller and curvier look.
Try wearing high necks that help accentuate the bust. Collars and necklaces worn closer to the neck add to the effect.
Broad shoulder
Neeta suggests raglan sleeves or halter as an easy way to tone down your broad shoulders. Keep your shoulders free of any embellishment or embroidery. Steer clear of padded jackets or dresses.
Thick or broad nose
If it's the thick nose that gives you nightmares keep your hair natural, loose and close to your face. Avoid wearing hats and caps; instead wear your hair piled up on your head but loose from the sides.
Heavy chest
If you are endowed with a big bosom which you are not so proud of then wear long chains and long scarves. Avoid square scarves, high necks and any sort of accessory closer to your neck.
Large feet and legs
Avoid T-strap sandals. Keep your feet covered with pumps. The length of your trousers should ideally be below your ankle. Also, avoid wearing narrow ankled trousers or short skirts that may highlight your ankle or foot.

How To Combat Body Odour
While everyone perspires, only some of us sweat excessively and that is when it becomes a problem. Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, may be hereditary. It could also be due to hormonal imbalance, high emotional excitement, spicy foods, exercise, or stress.
Here are a few tips you could follow to ease out the problem.
Flush out toxins with water
You may have heard this many times before, but water not only cleanses your body, it also prevents underarm odour. In addition, having at least two showers is hygienic and will help combat excessive sweating and get rid of the offensive odour.
Wear the right clothes
Wearing cotton clothes helps your skin to breathe and you can deal better with excessive sweating. Avoid fabrics that are likely to create irritation and heat up the skin, causing excessive sweating.
Lime and lemon
Lime helps you reduce sweating, prevent body odour and bleach your under arm. You could rub one half of a lime (not too ripe) on your armpits. You may feel mild irritation. However, if you are suffering from rashes, avoid using lime.
Spray on some freshness
Cans of antiperspirants and deodorants do help to some extent in keeping body odour at bay, but it may not hold true for everyone. Antiperspirants usually work by clogging the pores, which stops sweat from reaching the surface of your skin. Though they help get rid of perspiration almost immediately, the chemicals in them could cause side-effects like irritation and discoloured skin.
Lose weight and minimise sweating
Start eating healthy and lose weight as excess weight leads to excessive sweating. If your weight is already normal, you need to include more fibre to your diet and avoid spices. This will help you to flush away all the toxins from your body.
Try vinegar to combat the problem
You may be surprised, but apply vinegar on your armpits before sleeping at night and let it dry naturally. Wash it off the next morning. Applying apple cider on your armpits can also help solve the problem of excessive sweating gradually.
And Finally......
Visit your doctor
- Visiting your doctor and getting a test done would help you find out the exact cause for excessive sweating, After all, sweating is just a regular function of our body that helps regulate body temperature.
The magic of coconut oil
Coconut oil has too many uses to count. When applied topically, it fights skin conditions like psoriasis and dermatitis, moisturizes hair and skin, and treats wrinkles and dandruff — just to name a few. It has many beauty uses as well. Here are a few of them.
Moisturises the skin
Coconut oil can be used as a body lotion and will leave your arms and legs baby smooth. It's a great moisturizer and hydrates the skin. Take a few drops and rub it on your body, you'll see its magic all day long.
Deep conditioner
Full of amazing conditioning capabilities, coconut oil is great for hair. It penetrates the hair shaft and deeply moisturizes the hair. Not only will your hair be silky smooth but shiny too.
Body scrub
For polished, radiant, glowing, moisturized skin, mix up a batch of coconut oil and sugar. This mixture will exfoliate dead skin cells and leave you with fabulous looking skin.
Makeup remover
Yes ladies, coconut oil removes makeup. It removes eye-makeup in a breeze. It glides on smooth, removes the makeup, and won't leave your delicate eye area dry or irritated. To use, simply apply a small amount of coconut oil onto a cotton ball. Swipe the cotton ball over the makeup and wallah!
Foot softener
In sandal season, it's tough to keep your feet soft and smooth. Don't worry as coconut oil is again to the rescue. Massage some coconut oil onto your feet and put on the socks. After a few hours, take off the socks and you'll feel like you're stepping out of a spa.
There you have it!. For a for a fresh batch of this amazing natural home-made oil, at an afforable price, drop a comment for the contact. Xoxo, Joan.

Three 'bored' teens charged with murder of Australian baseball player
I am so shocked I can't shout! !!......
A promising young baseball player has been killed in Oklahoma by three "bored" teenagers, who wanted to experience what it would be like to kill someone.
Christopher Lane, 22, from Melbourne, was visiting Duncan, Oklahoma to see his girlfriend and her family, when he was shot.
A group of three teenage boys saw him walking past when they decided to kill him.
One of the culprits, 17, gave a detailed confession to police, according to the county police chief Danny Ford.
Investigators have not yet found the murder weapon.
The District Attorney is expected to file first degree murder charges early next week, although it is not known whether the group of 15-17 year olds would be charged as juveniles or adults.
Mr Ford explained: "They saw Christopher go by, and one of them said: 'There's our target,'."
"The boy who has talked to us said, 'We were bored and didn't have anything to do, so we decided to kill somebody.'"
Mr Lane was a college student on a baseball scholarship, based in the US.
His girlfriend Sarah Harper, said she was devastated by his tragic murder.
"He didn't deserve any of this," she said.
"It's heartbreaking that it was such a random choice those guys made that drastically altered so many lives in the process."
Witnesses rushed to the scene and attempted CPR on Mr Lane, but he died almost immediately.
It is believed the parents of the accused have sent their condolences to Mr Lane's family in Australia, and his girlfriend.
A Facebook page in his honour has already been established, with more than 48,000 'Likes'.

AMAZING: Mum has twins through IVF... then ANOTHER set of twins naturally soon after!!!!
As the ultrasound scanner picked up two tiny heartbeats, Julie Dalgetty’s face broke into a huge smile.
Husband Stuart let out a burst of laughter before the tears began to fall and he slumped over and started hyperventilating.
It is, perhaps, an understandable reaction for any dad-to-be who has just discovered he is going to have twins.
But for Stuart and Julie, it was a doubly big shock.
After seven years of heartbreak and IVF costing thousands of pounds, the couple finally had the twin babies they were desperate for.
But beating odds almost as high as a lottery jackpot, doctors had just told the couple they were having another set of twins – naturally.
And Julie conceived just 10 months after giving birth to the first set.
Now the family’s home in Whitley Bay, Tyneside, is in cheerful chaos as she and Stuart, 39, cope with nine-month-olds Molly and Nell, and Lily and Daisy, two.
Each day they change 24 nappies, use the washing machine and dishwasher three times, and wash and sterilise 14 bottles.
The couple own three double buggies and a specially built double-decker quad.
But despite their hectic life, they know how lucky they are.
Librarian Julie, 37, says: “The odds on us having a second set of twins is up there with a lottery win.
"People’s reactions when we tell them are horrified. It is hard work but we wouldn’t go back for a second.”
The moment they learnt the news is etched on Julie’s memory.
“They did an internal scan and there were two little heartbeats,” she recalls.
“Stuart started laughing quite hysterically and then he just started sobbing and hyperventilating.
"The nurses got him water and put his head between his legs.
“He couldn’t stop crying, not through happiness but terror. He thought this can’t really be happening – he was in denial.”
After the difficult years the couple had endured, an element of denial was not surprising.
They married in 2004 and immediately started trying for a family but there was no sign of a positive pregnancy test.
Julie recalls: “We started trying for baby straight away. I was 28 at the time but a year went by and nothing happened.
“We had various investigations and they couldn’t find anything wrong with us and we just had to carry on.”
After four years, the couple were increasingly desperate and were eventually accepted for three courses of IVF at Newcastle Fertility Centre at Life.
They knew it would most likely be their last few chances to have a baby and the stress took its toll on their marriage.
Julie says: “Friends and family were getting pregnant and you couldn’t. I became bitter and twisted in a way.
"I got upset when I saw pregnant women.
“Things got worse as during IVF – all the hormones they put you on is like having raging PMT all the time.
"One minute I was screaming my head off at Stuart and the next I’d cry my eyes out.”
However as each attempt proved to be unsuccessful, Julie and Stuart’s anguish reached new levels.
“It just consumes you,” Julie remembers. “We would get our hopes up then they would be dashed.
"We had three failed attempts over a two-year period and at the end we thought it would never happen.”
After their third failed attempt, the couple began thinking about giving up.
Julie says: “We thought how far do we take this?
"We have to start paying £3,500 to £4,000 a go and we don’t earn a great deal of money and by this point you were having to think that we had been trying for our entire married life so when do we stop?
“I went to talk to a counsellor about it. She said: ‘Maybe you should start thinking about what life would be like without children.’”
After agonising over the decision, the couple opted for one last go and paid £4,000 from savings.
Julie went to hospital for a blood test and anxiously called to ask if the treatment had worked.
She said: “I could tell straight away. Usually they put a sad voice on but she had a happy voice. I was overjoyed.”
On past attempts, Julie obeyed every rule in the book, but for their final try, the couple went on a caravan holiday.
She says: “I relaxed and had a few drinks and for whatever reason it worked.
"I had two eggs put back in and they both stuck. It was amazing, I felt like I’d won the lottery.”
But they still worried. Julie adds: “I couldn’t say the word pregnant for a long time.
“I couldn’t help feeling that something bad was going to happen because that’s what happens to us.
"When we had the seven-week scan, we could see the two heartbeats and we were overjoyed.”
The arrival of their non-identical daughters in March 2011 – the first girls in Stuart’s family in 250 years – meant the couple had the perfect family in one go.
They settled into family life and when the twins were 10 months old the pair enjoyed a rare night out – to see medium Derek Acorah.
“A little while after the show I thought, ‘I haven’t had my period’ and I still had a pregnancy test lying about,” Julie says.
“There was a really faint line. I kept looking at it and thought I had to go and get a better one. It came out pregnant.
“Part of me was absolutely elated but I thought this can’t be possible.
"I had waited years for it to happen naturally and gone through all the fertility treatments.
“The other half was terrified because my twins were only 10 months old.
“They were still babies and we were only just starting to get some semblance of life back.
"I was dreading telling Stuart so I cooked him a nice meal that night and made him drink three quarters of bottle of wine, then I showed him the pregnancy test.
“He asked, ‘What does this mean?’ and I told him I was pregnant and it was Derek Acorah’s fault!”
Once the news sank in, the couple faced a worrying few months until their second set of twins – this time identical – arrived.
The couple were overjoyed but looking after two newborns and 18-month-old twins was far from easy at first.
But now they have managed to find a routine.
The day starts at 5.15am with the young twins’ first bottle, while Lily and Daisy sleep in a little later.
As the younger girls nap upstairs, Lily and Daisy have lunch before a nap, giving Julie and Stuart 15 minutes of peace before Molly and Nell wake up again.
After tea the babies are bathed and then put into cots before the older daughters’ turn. The girls then get a bedtime story.
“We clear up until nine and that’s when I have a glass of wine,” laughs Julie.
“Meal times are like a production line. Sometimes I put four high chairs in a line and feed them one after another. It’s factory feeding.”
Despite the sleepless nights and juggling act that is day-to-day life, Julie and Stuart would not have it any other way.
Awwwwwww. This brought tears to my eyes........
Need a boost in the gym? Drinking watermelon juice could relieve muscle soreness after exercise.

Drinking watermelon juice can relieve muscle soreness after exercise, new research suggests.
It is believed that the amino acid L-citrulline, which is found in watermelon, can cut an athlete’s recovery time and boost their performance.
Watermelon juice has long been popular with sportspeople but scientists have now given them an excuse to continue indulging in the summer favourite.
In a report published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, the researchers explained that there had already been research to show that watermelon juice had antioxidant properties and the potential to increase muscle protein and enhance athletic performance.
However, this was the first time that scientists had explored the effectiveness of watermelon juice that is enriched with L-citrulline.
The team, led by Encarna Aguayo at the Technical University of Cartagena, in Spain, tested natural watermelon juice, watermelon juice enriched in L-citrulline, and a control drink containing no L-citrulline.
The drinks were given to volunteers an hour before exercise.
Both the natural juice and the enriched juice relieved muscle soreness in the volunteers.
L-citrulline in the natural juice (unpasteurised), however, seemed to be more bioavailable — in other words, it was in a form the body could better use.
It is believed the juice has this effect because the naturally occurring chemicals in it speed up the process of lactic acid removal.
This is important because lactic acid build-up can cause a burning sensation in the muscles and make them sore.
Previous research has suggested that watermelon can also help prevent heart disease by halting the build-up of harmful cholesterol.
The study, by Purdue University in the U.S., found the fruit halved the rate at which 'bad' low-density lipoprotein, or LDL, accumulated in mice.
LDL is a form of cholesterol that leads to clogged arteries and heart disease.
The researchers also found eating watermelon regularly helped to control weight gain and resulted in fewer fatty deposits inside blood vessels.
They also believe the secret to watermelon’s health-boosting properties lies in the citrulline contained within the juice.
So, there you have it. What's stopping y'all from hitting the gym for a few workouts? . Don't forget your bottle of watermelon juice while you're at it!!!!. Xoxo, Joan.

10 ways to strengthen a long-distance relationship
Absence they say, makes the heart grow fonder. This is a pro for long distance relationships. But then the same absence could wrack the relationship with insecurities, scepticism and resentment if not managed properly.
Do you have a plan to manage the distance? Long distance romances work well if you are ready to put in a little extra effort and some planning. Here are some tips you need to keep in mind if you want your long-distance relationship to survive.
Make time for 'us'
Without quality time, relationships don't survive. Carve out at least half an hour every day and at least one day in every month that the two of you spend time exclusively together.
Negotiate
State what you want and ask you partner to do the same; then both of you work to find a way that takes you forward.
Learn to resist
Long distance relationships tend to have partners who are tempted to have affairs. If you stray don't think it is an end of everything. Most couples recover. Remember that uprooting the cause of the affair can help you get closer as a couple.
Give and take
Every good relationship is about compromises done happily for each other. If you remember this always, half your problems will go!
Encourage listening
Show immediate appreciation when he listens to you properly and show interest when he is talking. You need to stay connected by sharing.
Be balanced
Make sure your dependence and independence are in balance. Tell and show your partner how much you need him/her, but don't cling, as that can make your partner trapped.
Smile often
Whenever you meet, even if it is only on video chatting, give your partner a genuine, loving and approving smile. It can most easily restore good feeling in your relationship.
Talk it out
Resentments that are hidden can really poison your relationship. If anything bothers you share it with your partner.
Money wise
Finances need to be worked out and planned. Money is sometimes the main cause of conflict.
Fish for compliments
Say something good about yourself to your partner and ask for his/her agreement. This will make you feel better immediately. Sometimes not waiting for a spontaneous compliment that takes to long to come is a wise idea.
Got any other tips? Share!!!!! :)

How to Be A Super Daughter In-Law!!!!!
One of the biggest challenges of married life is getting along well with your in laws. Though this goes for both partners in a marriage, it is the woman who is affected the most.
According to research around 60 per cent of all marriages suffer from tension with mothers-in-law, that is normally between the woman and her husband's mother. The nagging, meddling mother-in-law is often the cause of worry and the central idea that can help better the situation is to have a positive attitude and to show respect to the older woman.
Here are some tips on how to improve your relationship with your mom - in - law.
Positive attitude
Just like being a daughter-in-law is new to you taking up the role of a mother-in-law is new to her too. Always try and convey a positive attitude towards her. The older woman is probably just trying her best to fit into her role as a mom-in-law.
Equality
Try to treat your mother-in-law and your mother equally. For example if you give your mother a birthday gift, then give your mother-in-law a gift for her birthday too. If you have children, then visit your mother and your mother-in-law with similar frequency.
Sensitivity
The fact that the lady has spent a significant part of her life raising her son may make her a little sensitive when another person becomes the centre of attraction of her son's life.
Though most mothers do not consider her daughter-in-law competition, there are some mothers who do. The ones whose life revolved around their child for a long time because they are a single parent or had only one child are the ones who are most likely to behave in this way. If, for example, your mother-in-law mentions how much her son always liked her home cooking, do not try to compete by asserting how much he likes your cooking now. This would invariably hurt her.
Respect
Treat your mother-in-law with respect. Consider her older and wiser. She may have been through a lot of hardships in her life. In fact, talk to her and ask her about her childhood, growing up, raising kids, and life experiences. When she shares her life with you she will develop a liking for you and that can lead to a strong bond between the two of you.
Expectations
Getting to know the family you have married into may take time. Though most daughters-in-law are welcomed into the family with open arms, do not get disheartened if it does not happen. Give them time to know you better.
Be attentive
When your mother-in-law is at home be attentive towards her. Sit and chat, show her around town, and if she wants to help you prepare meals, then let her. You two can get to know each other better and bond. If she prefers to sit around being waited on hand and foot, then enlist your husband to help prepare meals and clean up.
Information
Try to keep mother-in-law informed; call and let her know about important events. Keep her in the loop. If you have children, send pictures to your mother-in-law. Grandmothers love getting pictures of their grandchildren.
Advice
Your mother-in-law has years of experience. Don't hesitate to take her advice. You may disagree with her and decide to not follow any of her suggestions, but be open to different ideas, at least listen, show respect, and do not take any advice as a personal attack. She is only trying to be helpful.
Children
Allow your mother-in-law to take care of your children. For them their grandchildren are more important than their own kids sometimes. If she wants to, let her spoil them a little, i.e. she lets them stay slightly past their bedtime or gives them some more chocolate than you would want to.
Communication
Try and talk out things with the family. If something that someone said hurt you, do not keep it bottled up inside you. Discuss with your husband and your mother-in-law any slights or snubs and how it makes you feel.
Weird News: 70 Year Old Man's Attempt to Pleasure Himself With a Fork Goes Wrong
Doctors have removed a 10cm long steel fork from inside a man’s penis, after a sexual adventure went horribly wrong, Dailymail reports.
The 70-year-old visited Canberra Hospital’s emergency department complaining of bleeding genitalia.
He then promptly admitted that he had inserted a piece of cutlery into his urethra in an attempt to pleasure himself.
Unfortunately the attempt backfired and it became stuck, leaving him in considerable pain. Despite this, it took him 12 hours to pluck up the courage to seek medical help.
The fork was so firmly lodged inside the man's body that doctors could not initially see the cause of the discomfort, according to the report in The International Journal of Surgery.
However, once it had been located multiple retrieval methods were contemplated with success achieved via forceps traction and copious lubrication.
The procedure was successful and the elderly man was sent home with no long-term damage.

The "SKORT" Trend: Gotta Have It or Make it Stop??
The skort is Back! and has proved surprisingly popular this summer
The garment is a cross between shorts and a skirt
We’ve had the shoot (shoe boots), jeggings (leggings that look like jeans) and this summer there’s another fashion portmanteau filling the High Street’s clothing rails. The skort.
The skort is the lovechild of shorts and a skirt — comfy short shorts, with a miniskirt over the top.
Popular with young actresses and pop stars who want to preserve their modesty, the skort offers a more secure way of wearing something ultra-short on your lower half. Because come wind, come stairs, come inelegant taxi exit; no one will be able to see your underwear.
Though the High Street is packed with them this summer, the skort is not, in fact, new.
In the Sixties, U.S. brand, Leon Levin developed the garment to cater for the growing number of female golfers who wanted 'the freedom of shorts with the soft lines of a skirt'’ and soon became a favourite on the Ladies Professional Golf Tour.
Today, hi-tech versions remain popular with tennis players and, as former Brownies will recall, Brown Owl deemed skorts to be the most exciting part of your uniform.
But it was Zara who pioneered the trend this summer, as part of the Nineties sports-luxe revival which is currently flooding the High Street — baggy T-shirts, ripped jeans, chunky soled shoes, open-knits.
Hmmm, I do have some praise for skorts. As short skirts are not normally good for blustery conditions, this is quite practical. The right pair, worn with a shirt, can also look tailored and smart.
And it’ll give you some much-needed practice, because — steel yourself — Next up is ..... the ‘skant’ (a skirt worn over 'pants' — as Americans call trousers). It looks set to return come autumn/ dry season. Heaven help us!
Can a grown woman REALLY get away with wearing a SKORT?

Babies Wearing Watermelons as Overalls are China's Latest Thing
Babies come in pretty cute packaging — I am pretty sure it has something to do with Mother Nature wanting you to coo over a burping, pooping little cuddly bundle. But now Chinese Internet users have found a way to one-up nature: They're wrapping those already adorable babes in watermelons.
Yep, watermelons.
It evidently started in Wenzhou city, when the father of the baby pictured below reportedly worked all day to fashion a functional pair of shorts from a watermelon so his son could cool down in the hot weather.
Photos of the tiny Wenzhou watermelon fashionista soon inspired a wave of online imitators, many looking dapper in melon caps, including this swashbuckling little "Spartan".
As Brian Ashcraft writes over at Kotaku, "not all parents in China are dressing their kids in melon wear, and there isn't an army of watermelon children roaming the street. However, this does seem to be a thing.
Omg! Make it stop!!!!. They do look adorable though! Lol

Opinion: Taking The Next Step........
While watching an episode of the series "Revenge" this evening, I got to a scene where Daniel Greyson tells his mother that he wants to propose to his girlfriend because he sees no reason to wait, as he is in love with her. She advised him against it, saying : people wait, for CERTAINTY.
My question is this. When taking that mighty step, is there ever the guarantee of certainty? Or do you take that step with the conviction that whatever the uncertainties, you and the person you are deciding to take that step with will be by your side each step of the way to make the crooked paths straight.
What do y'all think? . Xoxo, Joan
Types of Jeans and Which Works for You!
Based on a little research, I have put together this post on the perfect pair of jeans that "werk" on you r body frame!. Here we go. ....
Bootcut/flare
I find you need to have hips to make these work best, bootcuts are great for balancing out larger hips and giving you a great silhouette. If you are narrow and are not that gifted in the hip department I wouldn’t suggest a bootcut/flare jean, they can swamp your body and make you look bottom heavy and a bit out of proportion. Bootcuts are made by almost every single brand out there and I couldn’t narrow it down to just a few brands to suggest, you have a whole selection so go wild and pick!
Straight Leg
The straight leg jean is a lot more versatile than the the bootcut jean. It’s a more flattering option if you are not blessed with hips as the leg opening is wide enough to go over your shoes but not wide enough to make your body look out of proportion. Even if you have hips you can still rock the straight leg, it’s a very flattering cut. Since skinny jeans are so hot right now, if you don’t feel comfortable wearing them, then opt for a straight leg jean, it’s half way between. When worn with heels they will still give the illusion of super long legs as well. They are perfect for wearing as skinny jeans if you are very curvy as well.
Skinny
Skinnys are very versatile and could work for any body shape as long as they are worn right. If you are slim then you have no problem rocking a great pair of skinnys, they work if you are tall or petite, with heels or with flats and are perfect for tucking into boots. Even if you are on the curvy side you can still wear them! You probably want to wear a longish floaty tunic over your skinnys and a good pair of boots as well, this would look great on the curvier lady. You still get the sexy fit of skinny jeans but it’s balanced out with the longer top and boots. For the perfect skinny jean, you have so much choice!. So many brands out there do skinnys and they are all gorgeous!.
Jeggings
Jeggings are still one of my favourite trends to come around! I often thought to myself when I was younger, how comfortable would it be to have leggings with back pockets and front pockets but in a denim material.
They are the most comfortable jeans you can wear due to their stretch but again, the rules of the skinny jeans applies for these. They are very clingy and much like second skin but not uncomfortable. I would suggest the jeggings with back pockets because they are much more flattering than the ones without.
Super high rise
This style of jean I don’t think is all that flattering for some people, it works if you are blessed with being very tall and slim, otherwise super high rise on a petite or curvy frame can make your figure appear short and dumpy and isn’t very flattering.
Low rise
Low rise jeans are a personal favourite of mine, they are very flattering on a smaller frame, they give you a great silhouette. Curvier ladies may want to stay away from low rise jeans as they can give the dreaded muffin top which isn’t showing off your body to its best. A medium/higher rise is best for your curves.
Boyfriend
These jeans can be worn by anyone, all shapes and all sizes, they are great, super comfy and versatile. They may not be the most flattering jeans out there but worn right (a little tighter rather than super baggy and paired with a simple top) they can look great.
;) xoxo, Joan.
Jeans To Flatter Your Figure
I have put together a little post on how jeans should fit and the best jeans to flatter your body shape. I hope this information helps you when you go on your next jeans shopping spree.
Small butts
If you have a small butt, you want to stay away from large pockets or long pockets, they are not flattering on the butt at all. Jeans that will flatter your butt and give it a perkier look are smaller pockets, pockets that don’t have the bottom part of the pocket going past where the cheek meets the thigh, this will give the illusion of a rounded butt. Flap pockets are great as well for the appearance of a rounded tush. I find J Brand jeans work wonderful for smaller butts because the pocket placement is higher up. Frankie B. is also great because they have a low back rise and great pocket shape to flatter. Siwy is another great brand for a smaller bottom as is Frankie B. and Black Orchid.
Big butts
If you are blessed with having ‘junk in the trunk’ you can get away with pretty much any pocket style, no pockets, longer pockets, flap pockets, bigger pockets… The pocket style I would suggest staying away from is smaller pockets, if they are small, the placement is quite high up on the butt or rounded like Siwy, then it wont flatter your butt to it’s best ability. Also stay away from super low back rises, nobody loves a butt cleavage! There are so many brands to suggest, Diesel, Paige Premium, Rock & Republic, 7 For All Mankind, True Religion, Current/Elliott, AG Jeans… The world of denim is your oyster so take your pick!
Tall
If you are tall it can be hard to find longer inseams. Rock & Republic do inseams of up to 37″ and even 39″ sometimes so they are perfect for those long legs! Paige Premium has a tall selection as well and True Religion also do longer lengths. Diesel go up to a 34″ leg which sometimes run as long as 36″. You might find it easier buying the flared jeans from brands as they always run a lot longer, usually 35″ and upwards.
Petite
I know it’s hard to find jeans in a 30″ or less inseam, Paige Premium now does a petite line, Diesel come in a 30″ length and Rock & Republic now have petite lengths as well! Also with the super peg leg skinny jeans being hot right now, you are in luck! They normally run at around 29″-30″ so perfect for you petite ladies! Loads of brands do the peg leg skinny jeans which skim the ankles on regular height ladies but for you petite ladies they would act as the perfect skinny jean.
Other Denim tips to remember:
-When wearing heels with your bootcuts or straight leg jeans make sure the hem is about 1cm off of the floor, if the hem of your jeans covers the heel it will give the illusion of longer and leaner legs.
-Wearing jeans with pockets where the bottom of the pocket hits where the cheek meets the thigh is perfect, it makes you have a rounded and shapely butt.
-If your jeans are a little too tight and are giving you the dreaded muffin top, wear a looser tunic to cover it or try dampening them and stretching them out gently.
Stay tuned for my post on types of jeans and how to wear them. Xoxo, Joan.
